JEDDAH: The Good Hope Art and Science Academy hosted its much-awaited Annual Day, KALOLSAVAM ’26, presenting a vibrant cultural programme that blended tradition with contemporary artistic expression. The event has emerged as a notable cultural fixture within the Indian community in Jeddah, featuring a diverse showcase of talent and creativity.
The programme included a wide range of Indian classical and modern dance performances, along with soulful musical renditions, offering a rich and engaging experience for the audience. All performances were delivered by students of the Academy, highlighting a well-curated mix of music, dance, and visual presentations. The choreography, guided by the institution’s faculty, reflected both cultural depth and creative innovation.
A key highlight of the evening was the senior students’ chorus, which impressed the audience with its precision, harmony, and emotional depth. The performance not only entertained but also reinforced a sense of unity and cultural appreciation among attendees.
The martial arts segment, particularly the Karate demonstration, drew significant attention for its display of discipline, endurance, and physical skill. The segment reached a memorable peak when the youngest participant—a three-year-old student—took the stage, earning widespread applause for an impressive display of focus and confidence
The event’s smooth and pervasive execution was credited to the fastidious leadership of Director Dr. Junaise Babu and Dr Shibu Thiruvananthapuram whose planning and coordination ensured a well-structured and seamless programme.
The success of Kalolsavam ’26 was also attributed to the dedicated efforts of the Academy’s faculty and academic team, including Pushpa Suresh, Aji, Sindhu, Dr. Rahul, Sneha, Jishnu, Sundhu, Anoop Aliyan, and Kalabhavan Gaffar. Academic Experts Maria Das and Harikrishnan played a significant role in guiding students, contributing to the quality of performances presented on stage.
The event was attended by several prominent community members and dignitaries, including Dr. Shabnam (IISJ Managing Committee Member), Nazeer Vavakunju, Musafir Elamkulath (Senior Journalist), Joy Moolan (Chairman, Vijay Food Company), Khaja Mohideen, Radhakrishnan Kavumbai, Mohsin Kalikav, and Adv. Shamsudheen, among others, who extended their felicitations.
The programme concluded on a high note, with parents and community members expressing pride in the students’ achievements. Attendees described the capricious event as a memorable milestone that celebrated talent, cultural heritage, and community spirit.
