JEDDAH: For expatriates living far from home, access to welfare schemes, social security and reliable insurance protection can provide a vital sense of security for themselves and their families. Recognising the importance of ensuring that eligible expatriates are aware of such support mechanisms, the OICC Kasargod District Committee, Jeddah, organised an awareness seminar on NORKA membership and the NORKA Care Insurance Scheme, particularly aimed at expatriates from Kasargod district and their families.
The programme highlighted the significance of NORKA membership, the comprehensive benefits available under the NORKA Care Insurance Scheme, and the procedures for securing membership, enabling participants to better understand and make use of these valuable welfare initiatives. A considerable number of expatriates and their family members attended the seminar, making it a meaningful step towards greater awareness, social security and welfare among the expatriate community.
The programme was led by Nithesh Balan, President of the OICC Kasargod District Committee, and Abdul Razak Paivalike, General Secretary. The District Committee expressed its sincere appreciation to Gafoor Perla, Ashraf Udyavara, Abdul Latheef Manjeshwaram, Shareef Udyavar, Sameer, Shabeer, Niyas, Abubacker Uppala, Arif, Riyas Manjeshwaram, Farooq Manjeshwaram, and Khader Perla, Secretary of the OICC Kasargod District Committee, for their valuable support and dedicated efforts in making the programme a success.
Second Phase to Reach More Expatriate Families
Building on the encouraging response to the first phase, the second phase of the NORKA awareness campaign will be launched shortly, with a wider outreach to include more expatriates and their families. The initiative aims to ensure that no eligible member of the community remains unaware of the valuable welfare, protection and insurance benefits available through NORKA membership and the NORKA Care Insurance Scheme. The upcoming phase is expected to further strengthen awareness and empower more expatriate families to access these important support mechanisms.
