JEDDAH: The vibrant cultural fabric of Jeddah came alive as the much-acclaimed “Beats of Jeddah” musical evening transformed the Sapphire Auditorium in Sharafiya into a hub of artistic expression, music, dance, and creativity. The event attracted a large gathering of expatriate Malayalis, art lovers, and cultural enthusiasts, reaffirming the growing importance of community-driven cultural platforms in preserving and promoting the performing arts.
Presided over by noted cultural patron Hassan Kondotty, the programme highlighted the role of cultural initiatives in nurturing artistic talent and strengthening community bonds. The event was inaugurated by renowned writer Abdullah Mukkanni, who emphasized the significance of arts and culture in enriching society and inspiring future generations. The musical segment featured captivating performances by talented singers Asha Shiju, Yaser Cherukulampu, Anees Babu Puzhakkattiri, Siraj Nilambur, Mubarak Vazhakkad, and Nazeer Pariyapuram, whose melodious renditions entertained the audience and showcased the richness of musical artistry, earning copious applause and appreciation from the gathering.
A major attraction of the evening was the spectacular cultural performances by the students of Jeddah Kalarathna Dance Academy, guided by acclaimed choreographer and dance educator Sreetha Anilkumar. Their graceful movements, vibrant costumes, and expressive storytelling reflected the beauty of classical and contemporary dance traditions, earning thunderous applause from the audience. The performances stood as a testament to the academy’s dedication to nurturing young artistic talent and promoting cultural heritage among the younger generation. Adding another creative dimension to the event, Sreetha Anilkumar presented a live painting demonstration, creating an impressive portrait of singer Anees Babu before the audience. The performance was met with ebullient admiration and enthusiastic applause, further enhancing the artistic vibrancy of the evening. The artwork, completed with remarkable skill and artistic finesse, was later presented to the singer, becoming one of the evening’s most memorable highlights.
