Riyadh: The Embassy of India in Riyadh hosted a prestigious book launch ceremony where Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia, officially released “Seeds of Education”, an English autobiographical work by renowned educationist Zeenat Jafri.
The event was held at the Embassy of India Riyadh in the presence of distinguished guests, including Y. Sabir, Counsellor at the Embassy.
Zeenat Jafri, along with her late husband Musarrat Jafri, is recognized among the founding members of the first Indian school established in Riyadh. What began as a modest initiative later evolved into the International Indian School Riyadh, now operating under the supervision of the Embassy of India. Today, the institution serves more than 10,000 Indian students.
Mrs. Jafri served as the Principal of the school for several years, contributing significantly to its growth and academic excellence. In recognition of her outstanding services to education and the Indian diaspora, she was honored with the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman in 2017.
In addition to this national honor, she has received numerous awards and accolades from various organizations and community groups for her exceptional contributions to education and social service. Within the Indian community in Riyadh, she is held in high esteem and is affectionately known as “Mother India.”
Even after her retirement, Zeenat Jafri has continued to inspire generations through her lifelong dedication to education and community service.
