Riyadh – Members of the Bazme Urdu Toastmasters Club (BUTMC) Riyadh thrived in the annual area contest by grabbing five out of twelve trophies in the four categories while Riyadh Toastmasters Club (RTM) achieved four and Advanced Gems Toastmasters Club received three trophies respectively. The contest was held in four categories International, Humorous, Table Topics and Evaluation.
TM Mirza Furgana Fatima was the Area champion in the humorous speech contest while she was the first runner up in international speech contest and stood third in evaluation speech contest.
TM Syed Ateeq Ahmed grabbed the second position in humorous speech while TM Syed Naser Khursheed grabbed the third position in Table Topics Speech contest.
Members of the Riyadh Toastmasters Club (RTM) claimed four trophies, TM Ali Akhter and TM Moeen Abdulkader were champions in International and Evaluation contests respectively. Ahmed Al-Abbas stood second in Table Topics while Raghad Alharb grabbed third position in humorous speech contest.
Representing the Advanced Gems Toastmasters Club; DTM Jijo Koshi achieved three trophies in the contest. He was the Area champion in Table Topics contest and first runner up in evaluation speech contest. He also attained third position in international speech contest.
First and second place winners in each category will represent Area 1 in the Division A contest.
Area 1 of Division A, under District 79 of Toastmasters International held its annual contest for the program year 2025-2026 on Saturday 14th Feb at Legaa, Hall, Al Izdahar, Riyadh. Toastmasters from three clubs, Riyadh Toastmasters Club, Bazme Urdu Toastmasters Club and Riyadh Gems Advanced Toastmasters Club participated in the contest.
Area Director TM Raghad Yasin served as the contest master for the international speech contest while TM Prabhakaran was the contest master for humorous speech contest. Evaluation and table topics speech contests were conducted by TM Anand Raju and TM Anas respectively.
Contest Chair TM Bhaskar Elangovan conducted the proceedings of the event and DTM Mohammed Mubeen served as the Chief Judge. Area 1 Director TM Raghad Yasin thanked all the participants, role players and audience for their marvelous support to make the contest grand success.
