Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – November 25, 2025 – In a vibrant celebration of diplomacy, debate, and youthful ambition, Yara International School proudly hosted the inaugural Yara Model United Nations (Yara MUN) 2025 from October 31 to November 1. The two-day conference united aspiring young leaders to tackle pressing global challenges, honing their skills in leadership, ethics, and collaborative problem-solving.
The event kicked off with a solemn Opening Ceremony, featuring an invocation for divine blessings and a keynote address by Ms. Manusmriti, Counsellor for the Economics and Commerce wing at the Embassy of India. The official inauguration was led by Mr. Vipul Bawa, First Secretary (Information, Culture, and Education) and School Observer for Indian Schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) at the Embassy of India in Riyadh. Distinguished guests included Chief Patron Mr. Habeebul Rahman, CEO Mr. Khalid Al Idrees, Principal Mrs. Aasima Saleem, and a host of school leaders, all gathered to witness the spark of future diplomacy ignite.
Over the course of the conference, delegates immersed themselves in dynamic simulations of the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) and the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). Topics ranged from bolstering global security frameworks to advancing human rights protections, fostering an environment where participants demonstrated exceptional diplomacy, teamwork, and a commitment to moral responsibility. “It was inspiring to see our students step into the shoes of world leaders, debating with passion and poise,” shared Principal Mrs. Aasima Saleem.
The conference culminated in a poignant Closing Ceremony, graced by His Excellency O.L. Ameer Ajwad, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Saudi Arabia, accompanied by Madam Ambassador. In his closing remarks, Ambassador Ajwad delivered a stirring message on authentic leadership: “True leadership is not just about knowledge or power—it’s the harmonious blend of morals, empathy, and unyielding ethics that drives real change.” His words resonated deeply with the young delegates, officially marking the end of Yara MUN 2025 on an uplifting note.
Behind the seamless execution of the event stood a dedicated leadership team: Secretary General Mr. Madhukar Jode, Director General Mr. Faizal M, and Convener Mr. Sudheer Ahammed.
