JEDDAH: Thousands of football enthusiasts gathered at the Abeer Medical Centre Sharafiya Rooftop Auditorium on July 19 to witness the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final on a giant screen, where Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA, to lift the coveted World Cup trophy. Organised by the KMCC Nilambur Constituency Committee, the event became one of Jeddah’s largest community screenings of the tournament, bringing together expatriates from diverse nationalities in a vibrant celebration of football.
The rooftop auditorium came alive from kick-off until the final whistle, with spectators passionately cheering every attack, save, and goal. The stadium-like ambience reflected the enthusiasm of the crowd as supporters remained engrossed throughout the match. Following the final result, Spanish fans celebrated their team’s victory, while Argentine supporters graciously accepted the outcome, underscoring the true spirit of football and sportsmanship.
The screening attracted not only members of the Malayalam community but also expatriates from various Indian states, Arab nationals, and football enthusiasts from several other countries. The overwhelming response filled the venue to capacity, with many attendees standing throughout the match to be part of the memorable occasion.
Managing the large gathering required meticulous planning and effective coordination. A dedicated team of volunteers, led by Zubair Nilambur and Abooty, ensured the smooth conduct of the event despite the heavy turnout. Their disciplined crowd management and commitment were widely appreciated by participants.
The program was attended by KMCC Central Committee leaders Arimbra Aboobaker, V.P. Mustafa, Ubaid, Baby Sharafiya Store, Seethi Kolkadan, District KMCC Secretary Nani Ishaq, OICC District Secretary Ismail, and Vasu Hamadan.
The successful organisation of the event was led by KMCC Nilambur Constituency President Fazlu Moothedam, Secretary Jabir Chankarath, and Treasurer Saleem Munderi, whose careful planning and teamwork ensured a seamless experience for the large audience.
The stadium-quality sound system, provided by Shas Sound under the supervision of Shihab Pulikkal, enhanced the viewing experience and received widespread appreciation from spectators.
