RIYADH: Executive members of the Gulbarga Welfare Society, Riyadh Chapter (GWS Riyadh Chapter), attended a heartfelt farewell ceremony in honor of the outgoing Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan.
A delegation from the society, led by President Mr. Shah Muhammad Mukhtarullah Zanjani, presented a bouquet of flowers to the Ambassador. At the special request of Mr. Mukhtarullah Zanjani, the bouquet was presented by Dr. Syed Anwar Khurshid, Advisor of the Society and Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awardee.
Convener of the Steering Committee, Mr. Zaigham Khan, delivered the welcome address and warmly greeted the chief guest and all attendees.
Senior embassy officials and prominent members of the Indian community in Saudi Arabia addressed the gathering, paying rich tributes to Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan for his outstanding service.
Dr. Syed Anwar Khurshid, in his address, described the Ambassador as a hardworking, talented, and people-friendly diplomat who rendered invaluable services to the Indian community. He said:
“I consider myself fortunate that I got the opportunity to work with you in various social services during your three terms of embassy. It is also a matter of pride for me that I also received the Pravasi Bharati Samman award during your term of service.”
In his reply, Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan expressed heartfelt gratitude to the entire Indian community in Saudi Arabia, stating that his tenure in the Kingdom would remain one of the most memorable and cherished periods of his life.
AMOUBA President Dr. Inamullah Azmi added color to the event with his excellent Urdu poetry and skillful anchoring, earning appreciation from the audience.
Steering Committee Member Mr. Ahad Siddiqui proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the chief guest, embassy officials, representatives of various organizations, and all participants. He also congratulated the Steering Committee members and volunteers for the program’s success.
Other dignitaries from Gulbarga Welfare Society, Riyadh Chapter, present at the event included Advisor Syed Nasir Khurshid, Vice President Zaki Tamimul Hassan, General Secretary Muhammad Azharuddin, Joint Secretary Muhammad Danish, Treasurer Abu Arif Shazli, Chief Coordinator Dr. Khawaja Moinuddin, Media Coordinator Syed Zubair Ahmed, Executive Members Dr. Syed Arif Hussain and Mirza Aslam Beg, and Chief Coordinator of the Ladies Wing, Mrs. Syeda Sarwat Arshi.
The ceremony concluded in a warm and pleasant atmosphere, with participants expressing deep appreciation for Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan’s diplomatic contributions and extending their best wishes for his future endeavors.
A grand dinner was hosted at the end of the event, providing an opportunity for guests to interact and share memories in a cordial setting.
