NAJRAN: In a meaningful blend of patriotism and community service, Shifa Medical Center and the Saudi Senthamil Sangam jointly organised a special medical, physiotherapy and dental screening camp in Najran on August 14, marking India’s 80th Independence Day. Lead by Dr. Ali, Chairman of Shifa Medical Center, Dr. Abdullah, Group Manager, and Selvaraj, Correspondent of Sanabel School, the camp brought together a team of five doctors and 25 nurses who provided health check-ups, medical consultations, physiotherapy, dental screening and health-awareness guidance to nearly 250 community members.
Raj Mohammed, President of Saudi Senthamil Sangam, along with Secretary Venkat, Treasurer Rifaydeen and Joint Secretary Kani, extended active support for the programme. The camp was also attended by prominent community leaders, including Saleem, President of KMCC; Vinu, President of Najran Malayalam Association; Dr. Bhaskar Reddy, President of SATA Najran; Arul Aakash, President of Najran Tamil Association; Ali, President of NICA; Shanawas, President of Prathiba Najran; and Zahir, President of OICC Najran.
Describing community service as a true expression of the spirit of independence, the organisers said the initiative reflected the values of unity, compassion and social responsibility.
In recognition of their dedicated service, the doctors and 25 nurses were honoured with commemorative shields by the Saudi Senthamil Sangam.
The programme concluded with the organisers expressing gratitude to the medical team, Sanabel School management, community leaders, office-bearers and all those who supported and benefited from the initiative. Celebrating Independence through service, compassion and care, the medical camp transformed the spirit of freedom into a meaningful commitment to community well-being.
