Riyadh, 12 September 2026: The Gulbarga Welfare Society (GWS) Riyadh Chapter successfully organised the eighth edition of its webinar series on “Project Planning & Scheduling,” drawing nearly 100 participants from Saudi Arabia and India.
The online session brought together engineering students, professionals and project-management enthusiasts for an informative and interactive programme focused on the critical role of effective planning and scheduling in successful project delivery.
The keynote address was delivered by Eng. Mohammed Azharuddin, Planning Manager at Parsons, Saudi Arabia, and General Secretary of the GWS Riyadh Chapter. Drawing on his professional experience, he introduced the fundamentals of project planning and scheduling and illustrated, through practical examples, how sound planning, coordination, resource management and timely decision-making drive successful outcomes. The session featured a hands-on exercise on activity sequencing and the Critical Path Method (CPM), along with overviews of resource planning, project tracking, monitoring and the practical application of Primavera P6.
An interactive question-and-answer segment proved one of the most engaging parts of the webinar, with participants raising practical queries on scheduling levels and how planning engineers manage cross-disciplinary dependencies through structured coordination and interface milestones.
The programme was masterfully anchored by Tameem Alhassan, Vice President of the GWS Riyadh Chapter, whose eloquent delivery and thoughtful inclusion of inspiring quotes delighted the audience.
The event opened with a soulful recitation of the Holy Quran by Master Abdullah Zanjani, followed by an insightful welcome address from Eng. Danish Kharadi, Joint Secretary, who underlined the importance of strategic planning in managing project time, resources and activities effectively.
Mr. SM Mukhtarullah Jagirdar, President of the GWS Riyadh Chapter, addressed the gathering and reaffirmed the chapter’s commitment to professional development and community empowerment.
Closing remarks were delivered by Mr. Syed Nasir Khursheed, GWS Advisor, who stressed the value of continuous learning and sustained professional growth for engineers at every stage of their careers.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Eng. Syed Zubair, Media Coordinator of the GWS Riyadh Chapter, who expressed gratitude to the keynote speaker, distinguished guests, organising team and participants for contributing to the webinar’s success.
An interactive live quiz held mid-session kept engagement high and allowed participants to test concepts as they were introduced. Thirty-five audience members took part, with Engr. Mohammed Ilyas from Gulbarga emerging as the first-prize winner.
