RIYADH: September 12, 2026: Reflecting the enduring spirit of compassion, solidarity and people-to-people friendship between India and Saudi Arabia, the Global Telangana Forum (GTF) organised a blood donation camp at King Fahad Medical City (KFMC), Riyadh, on September 11. Held in connection with Indian Independence Day and Saudi National Day, the initiative underscored the Indian diaspora’s meaningful contribution to humanitarian causes in the Kingdom.
The camp was inaugurated by Praveen Kumar, Second Secretary (Consular), Embassy of India, Riyadh, who commended GTF’s sustained community-service initiatives and described blood donation as a noble humanitarian endeavour that can directly help save lives. Congratulating GTF Founder and President Mohammed Jabbar and the entire GTF team, Praveen Kumar said the organisation’s consistent community-service efforts reflected the benevolent spirit of the Indian diaspora and, a fortiori, its profound commitment to humanitarian values. He noted that holding the blood donation camp on Saudi National Day was particularly significant, symbolising the deepening friendship and people-to-people ties between India and Saudi Arabia.
Praveen Kumar also lauded the Indian community’s valuable contribution to Saudi society and urged the diaspora to remain actively engaged in humanitarian initiatives across the Kingdom. Speaking on the occasion, Mohammed Jabbar described blood donation as one of the simplest yet most profound ways of serving humanity and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the donors, volunteers and supporters who rallied behind the noble cause.
Mohammed Jabbar expressed his appreciation to Dr. Idris of Shifa Medical, Muhammad Zaki of the Karimnagar community, Zaitoon Restaurant and Mr. Asif, and Diwan Restaurant and Mr. Sikandar for their generous support, while thanking the KFMC medical team, particularly Dr. Nora, for its professional cooperation. He also lauded the GTF core team and volunteers—including Sheikh Elias (Muhammad Ilyas), Mohammed Ilyas, Hussain Shabbir, Veeraswamy, Dr. Junaid, Dr. Abdul Mateen, Jibran, Faizan, Muhammad Ateeq and Imran—whose tireless efforts ensured the camp’s success.
Dr. Junaid praised Jabbar’s unwavering commitment to community service and highlighted GTF’s sustained blood-donation campaigns in Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah, which have brought the Indian community together in a shared mission of saving lives and serving humanity/ The Riyadh camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from community members who voluntarily came forward to donate blood and support patients in need. GTF expressed its heartfelt appreciation to all the donors, volunteers, organizers, medical staff, sponsors and supporters who contributed to the success of the initiative.
Continuing its unwavering commitment to humanitarian service, the Global Telangana Forum (GTF) will organise its next blood donation camp at King Abdulaziz Hospital, Jeddah, on September 18. GTF has appealed to members of the Indian community in Jeddah and neighbouring areas to participate in large numbers, underscoring that every donation can become a lifeline for someone in need. The initiative further reinforces GTF’s enduring resolve to transform community solidarity into meaningful service and inspire the Indian diaspora across the Kingdom to join hands in the noble cause of saving lives.
