Ajman Transport Authority has confirmed that every school bus operating in the emirate is now equipped with automatic fire suppression systems designed to tackle engine-compartment fires.
The move forms part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to strengthen safety and security across the school transport sector. Officials said the systems help ensure early response to potential fires and reduce the risk of flames spreading, creating a safer daily journey for students travelling to and from schools.
Eng. Sami Ali Al Jallaf, Executive Director of the Public Transport and Licensing Corporation at Ajman Transport Authority, said the 100% readiness rate reflects the authority’s commitment to the highest safety standards. “Student safety remains one of our top priorities,” he noted, adding that the authority continuously verifies that school buses meet approved safety requirements.
Al Jallaf explained that automatic fire suppression systems in engine compartments are an important preventive measure. They enable early intervention, limit the risk of fire spreading, and enhance protection for students, drivers and supervisors while improving the overall operational safety of the fleet.
The authority places strong emphasis on prevention and safety measures in school transport by ensuring the efficiency of related systems and equipment. This supports the continued delivery of safe and reliable services and helps reinforce parents’ confidence in Ajman’s school transport network.
Al Jallaf reaffirmed that Ajman Transport Authority will continue working to raise safety and prevention standards in the sector and to promote a culture of safety as a core pillar of transport service development. These efforts aim to protect students and contribute to a better quality of life in the Emirate of Ajman.
