Jangaon, July 17, 2025 – Jangaon district in Telangana continues to make headlines, ranking at the top among 50 districts nationwide for students’ learning abilities, a achievement celebrated as a triumph of effective governance. This success, highlighted in the recent National Achievement Survey (NAS-2024), underscores the impact of a well-coordinated educational framework when driven by dedication and strategic oversight.
District Collector Rizwan Basha has been pivotal in this milestone, leading efforts that propelled Jangaon to 16th place nationally for Class 3, 35th for Class 6, and 33rd for Class 9. His approach includes monthly reviews of school-wise test results, where he commends high-performing schools and encourages improvement elsewhere. To prepare students, education officials under his guidance refined teaching methods, conducted mock exams, and organized a final rehearsal, ensuring readiness for the NAS test held last December across Classes 3, 6, and 9.
Beyond academics, Rizwan Basha has spearheaded initiatives like the Rythu Bharosa Scheme, disbursing ₹211.21 crore to 1,75,563 farmers for the 2025 kharif season, reflecting his commitment to both education and agriculture. He also launched the Mission Shakti program, installing incinerators in schools and colleges to promote a cleaner environment while raising awareness on women’s safety. His emphasis on education from an early age was evident in a recent call for all children to attend school, reinforcing his holistic approach to district development.
Recent reports also note challenges, such as five students falling ill due to food poisoning at a Social Welfare School near Jangaon, and a tragic incident of a newborn abandoned in Khilashapur village, prompting police investigations. These issues highlight the diverse responsibilities Basha manages alongside educational successes. Additionally, farmers have sought his intervention to address water shortages, demanding Devadula water to save crops amid drought-like conditions.
