New Delhi, June 20, 2025 – Countries around the world are working hard to bring their citizens home safely as tensions between Iran and Israel grow. The conflict, which began with Israel’s surprise missile strikes on Iran last week, has caused chaos, closing airports and roads across the Middle East. Many nations are using land borders and special flights to evacuate people from both countries, showing a strong spirit of global teamwork to protect lives.
According to the Press Trust of India (PTI), thousands of people have already left Iran and Israel due to the ongoing attacks. Airspaces are closed, and travel is difficult, so governments are using creative ways to help. For example, Bulgaria moved all its diplomats from Tehran to Baku, Azerbaijan. China is sending buses to take its citizens from Israel to Egypt, with over 700 Chinese nationals already moved to safety. One Chinese citizen, Aell Huang, shared how he heard explosions in Isfahan, Iran, and quickly fled to Azerbaijan with about 60 others.
India started “Operation Sindhu” to bring its nationals home from Iran. The Indian Embassy reported that 110 students were safely moved to Armenia. Mehreen Zaffar, an Indian student, said she was scared in Tehran but felt relieved to reach safety. Another student, Huzaif Malik, thanked the government for the quick help. India is also helping its 36,000 citizens in Israel leave through land borders, with 90 Kashmiri students arriving in New Delhi from Armenia on June 19.
Other countries are stepping up too. Japan evacuated 90 people from Israel and Iran to Jordan and Azerbaijan, with more buses planned. France is helping its citizens leave Iran for Armenia and Turkey and from Israel to Jordan and Egypt. Germany flew 171 people out on Wednesday and 174 on Thursday, with another flight set for the weekend. The European Union has moved about 400 people from Israel through Jordan and Egypt.
The conflict has caused sadness, with 224 deaths in Iran, mostly civilians, and 24 civilian deaths in Israel, as reported by PTI. Airports in Tehran, a city of 10 million, are closed, and roads are blocked, making evacuations hard. Fuel shortages add to the challenge, but countries are working together to keep people safe.
This global effort shows how nations can unite in tough times. Leaders are also calling for peace. China and Japan have urged both sides to stop fighting, while the United Nations has asked Iran and Israel to protect civilians. As the world watches, these evacuations remind us of the power of helping each other. YaHind.Com hopes for a quick end to the conflict and safety for all.
