Remembering Khaleel — with his friends in Ooty last year.

Jangaon: 14 May 2026: Mohammed Khaleel, a well-known social figure and founder of the Maharaja Tea brand, passed away on 13 May 2026 after suffering a heart attack. He was 60.
He suddenly fell ill on Wednesday and was rushed to NIMS Hospital, Hyderabad by his brother Mohammed Jameel, where he breathed his last.
Many friends and relatives gathered at his Hyderabad residence on Wednesday to pay their last tributes. Today, a large number of friends from Hyderabad travelled to Jangaon to attend his Namaz-e-Janazah, which was performed after Zuhr prayers at Jama Masjid, Jangaon. He was laid to rest at the old cemetery in Jangaon.
Khaleel was actively involved in social work and always ready to help people in his own way. He had served as Joint Secretary of the Jama Masjid Committee and President of Masjid Amirunnisa. He also contributed to the construction of the Eidgah.
He is survived by his brothers Mohammed Jameel, Mohammed Jaleel, and Mohammed Akhil. His brothers based in Saudi Arabia reached Jangaon immediately upon receiving the news.
