Jeddah – The 77th Republic Day of India was celebrated at the Consulate General of India, with enthusiastic participation from members of the Indian community across the western region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The celebrations began with a floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by senior officials of the Consulate and their families, followed by the unfurling of the Indian National Flag by the Consul General of India, Shri Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, and the singing of the National Anthem.
Consul General Shri Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri read out the message of the Hon’ble President of India to the Nation and Indians around the world on the 77th Republic Day. In his address to the community, he acknowledged the professionalism, dedication, and contributions of the Indian diaspora in strengthening India–Saudi Arabia ties, and highlighted the Consulate’s ongoing initiatives to enhance engagement, including consular services, outreach programs, cultural initiatives, and wellbeing activities.
Patriotic cultural performances by students of the International Indian School, Jeddah, further enlivened the occasion. Following the performances, the Consul General felicitated all the performers and interacted with members of the Indian community. The celebrations concluded with a special exhibition of Indian cuisine organized by the Indian community, displaying the diversity and richness of Indian culinary traditions.
