Jeddah – Indian Business Professional Network (IBPN) bids farewell to Mohammed Hashim, Consul for Commerce, Press, Information, and Culture at the Indian Consulate in Jeddah, whose tenure ended on 10th December 2025. He was welcomed at the farewell party by the newly elected IBPN president, Mr. Azizul Rab.
IBPN aims to act as an informal interface to promote trade and commerce, business alliances, joint ventures and investments between India and Saudi Arabia on a bilateral basis. It aims at introducing Indian companies to the vast opportunities that exist in the Kingdom and to aid them in projecting their expertise and strengths in various disciplines for prospective alliances with business and trade organizations operating in Saudi Arabia. It also aims to provide a reciprocal interface for business and trade organizations established in Saudi Arabia to explore business opportunities in India, which is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and has emerged as a key destination for foreign investors and exporters in recent years.
Earlier IBPN has facilitated many business delegations to support Indo-Saudi Business relationship.
The newly inducted executive committee of IBPN consists of Mr. Azizul Rab, Mr. Vijay Soni, Mr. Awais Patni, Mr. Zakariya Biladi, Mr. Asim Zeeshan, Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Mr. Mirza Qudrath Nawaz Baig, Mr. Qamar Saada and Mr. Rana Mukesh Singh.
Speaking at the farewell party, Mohammed Hashim congratulated the newly elected executive committee of IBPN. He said that working with members of the Indian community over the past three years of his tenure in Jeddah has been a deeply enriching experience, and these moments will remain lifelong memories for him.
He further stated that he is leaving Jeddah with a sense of extreme satisfaction and self-realization, having worked diligently to serve the community while also promoting trade and commerce, business alliances, joint ventures, and investments between India and Saudi Arabia on a bilateral basis. He expressed confidence that IBPN would continue to support the Indian Consulate in achieving greater milestones and in further strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
During his address, he also briefly explained his personal journey toward better health and shared a few suggestions on how he successfully reduced his weight to manage his health issues.
Mr. Asim Zeeshan, the master of ceremonies for the event, also acknowledged and appreciated the contributions of the outgoing Consul of Commerce.
Mr. Pradeep Sharma announced that the second edition of the Invest India Summit will be held in February 2026, featuring participation from numerous Indian startups showcasing their innovations, along with prominent speakers sharing insights on investment opportunities in India.
Mr. Vijay Soni and Mr. Laxman Rajput highlighted that the Government of Rajasthan is actively encouraging Saudi companies to invest in the state, offering attractive opportunities across various sectors.
Mr. Awais Patni delivered the vote of thanks, expressing his gratitude to all IBPN members for their support and for making the farewell party a grand success.
Earlier, Mr. Mirza Qudrath Nawaz, Mr. Qamar Saada, Mr. Zakariya Biladi, and Mr. Rana Mukesh Singh presented gifts to the outgoing Consul of Commerce.
Mr. Azizul Rab, together with the newly elected executive committee of IBPN, presented a bouquet to Mohammed Hashim as a gesture of appreciation and goodwill. The outgoing Consul Commerce also participated in a cake-cutting ceremony.
The farewell party was attended by few members of IBPN along with the executive committee and concluded with a sumptuous dinner by Biryani Gate restaurant.
