The Telangana Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has announced significant changes in the evaluation and result declaration process for the 2025 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations. Students will now receive both marks and grades on their result memos, marking a shift from the previous grading-only system.
Key Changes in the 2025 SSC Evaluation System
- Marks and Grades Combined: For the 2025 SSC exams, students will be awarded marks for their performance in the external assessments, along with corresponding grades. This dual reporting system aims to provide a more comprehensive evaluation of student performance.
- Assessment Structure: The existing assessment structure, which allocates 80 marks for external exams and 20 marks for internal assessments, remains unchanged for the 2024-25 academic year. However, the government has decided to shift to a marks-only system from the academic year 2025-26 onwards, eliminating internal assessments entirely
Implications of the New System
Enhanced Transparency: By providing both marks and grades, the new system offers greater transparency and allows for more accurate comparisons among students
Streamlined Admissions: The introduction of marks is expected to facilitate a smoother and more equitable online admission process for junior colleges, as marks are easier to compare than grades.
Future Evaluation Changes: Looking ahead, the complete removal of internal assessments in Class X from the 2025-26 academic year will mean that 100% of the evaluation will be based on external exams conducted by the Directorate of Government Examinations
Accessing the Results
Students can access their 2025 SSC results on the official BSE Telangana website: bse.telangana.gov.in. The result memos will display both marks and grades, providing a detailed overview of each student’s performance
These changes reflect the Telangana government’s commitment to modernizing the education system and aligning assessment practices with contemporary educational standards.
