Dubai: The contribution of Indian expatriates living in Saudi Arabia towards the glorious march of their motherland and the Kingdom reflects a strong connection between the two nations, said G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Coal and Mines.
The Government of India accords cordial preference to bilateral relations with Saudi Arabia, he told the NRI community. Kishan Reddy was accorded a warm welcome by the Indian community in Riyadh on Wednesday night, as he reached Riyadh to participate in the Future Mineral Forum organized by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industries and Mineral Resources.
“I was in the midst of the Sankranti festival at my residence in New Delhi where PM Modi had attended and emphasised upon importance of Saudi Arabia, I came to Saudi Arabia and it was pleasing to experience the rich hospitality of Saudis and warm affection of Indian diaspora,” Kishan Reddy added.
The Indian diaspora in Saudi is unique and reflects India’s diversity. They are held together by the ‘Indianness’ and a profound cultural and emotional attachment towards Mother India, he said.
The NRI community that comprises a significant number from Telangana warmly received the visiting minister. Telangana prominent businessman Mohammed Nayeemuddin of MASA group presided over the event which was attended by NRIs from various states.
