King Saud University Hosts ‘Healthon 2026’ Digital Health Innovation Hackathon with Prizes Exceeding SAR 1 Million

RIYADH, October 4, 2026: King Saud University successfully hosted the Digital Health Innovation Hackathon “Healthon 2026” from October 1 to 4, 2026, at the university’s main hall. The four-day event brought together innovators, experts, and professionals dedicated to developing technological solutions that will shape the future of healthcare.

The hackathon offered prizes exceeding SAR 1 million to encourage promising ideas and projects, supporting the transformation of health innovations into scalable, practical solutions that strengthen the role of technology in addressing key challenges in the healthcare sector.

“Healthon 2026” was designed as a collaborative platform for innovators, thinkers, and specialists to tackle real-world healthcare challenges and develop digital approaches that improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare services. Participants received dedicated opportunities to develop and refine their ideas and solutions under the guidance of experienced specialists, with a strong focus on digital technologies capable of delivering sustainable impact.

Engr. Salman Khalid Bakhsh served as a mentor to the participating teams throughout the event. The programme was organised under the leadership of a dedicated team from King Saud University Medical City, led by Engr. Mubarak Alshahrani and Engr. Mervat Alrassan, whose efforts contributed significantly to the success of the initiative.
