Hyderabad, September 6: An exhibition featuring rare photographs of Masjid-e-Nabawi and exquisite Islamic calligraphy was inaugurated at the Media Plus Auditorium, Gunfoundry, on Saturday as the centrepiece of a Seerat-e-Nabi programme organised by the Media Plus Federation.
Titled “Baad Az Khuda Buzurg Tuhi Qissa Mukhtasar,” the event combined the exhibition with a seminar on the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the release of the English translation of the book Seerat in Quran.
Aamir Ali Khan, Editor of The Siasat Daily, inaugurated the exhibition and attended as Chief Guest. He stressed that every Muslim should follow the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunnah in daily life and urged regular reading of the Quran along with its translation to grasp the true message of Islam. He noted that reading the Quran has long been part of his own daily routine.
Prof. Rashid Naseem Nadwi, who presided over the seminar, described Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the supreme teacher and greatest role model for humanity. He said the Prophet taught the world universal values of peace, compassion, justice, kindness and humanity, and that his blessed life remains an eternal source of guidance.
Speakers at the gathering called upon the audience to strive to follow the noble teachings and example of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in their everyday lives. Distinguished personalities present included Dr. Tajammul Hussain, Dr. Islamuddin Mujahid, Syed Ayub Hussaini (President of Majlis-e-Tameer-e-Millat) and Sahabzada Mir Ahmed Ali Khan. Alhaj Mohammed Mukarram Khan attended as Special Guest. Mohammed Shoieb Raza recited a soulful Naat. Proceedings were conducted by Shabaz Khalid. Veteran journalist and photographer K. N. Wasif welcomed the gathering, while Dr. Fazil Hussain Parvez proposed the vote of thanks.
The exhibition showcases rare and captivating photographs of Masjid-e-Nabawi captured by renowned photographer K. N. Wasif, alongside artistic Islamic calligraphy works by acclaimed calligrapher Ghouse Arsalan. It offers visitors an artistic and spiritual glimpse into the beauty, grandeur and heritage of the Prophet’s Mosque and the richness of Islamic culture.
In a related development, the English translation of Seerat in Quran, a biography of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), was also released. Originally authored in Urdu by Muscat-based scholar Sahibzada Mahmood, the book has been translated by senior journalist J.S. Ifthekhar. It presents the Prophet’s life through Quranic verses, blending Seerah with tafseer in a distinctive approach.
The programme and exhibition drew scholars, intellectuals, artists, students and members of the public interested in Islamic history, art, calligraphy and the cultural and spiritual heritage linked to Masjid-e-Nabawi.
Organisers announced that the exhibition will remain open to the public on Sunday, September 6, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
