N’Djamena, September 09, 2025: The Embassy of India in N’Djamena, Chad, hosted a warm send-off for the final group of Chadian students traveling to India to pursue higher education under the prestigious Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) scholarship programme. The interaction, attended by India’s Ambassador to Chad, Dr. Hifzur Rahman, marked a significant milestone in strengthening educational and cultural ties between India and Chad.
This year, a total of 31 Chadian students have been awarded full scholarships by the Government of India to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degree programmes across diverse fields at premier universities in India. The ICCR scholarship programme, known for fostering academic excellence and cultural exchange, continues to provide opportunities for young Chadian scholars to access world-class education in India.
During the event, Ambassador Dr. Hifzur Rahman engaged with the departing students, offering his best wishes and emphasizing the importance of their role as cultural ambassadors for Chad in India. He highlighted the growing partnership between the two nations, noting that such educational initiatives not only empower students but also deepen bilateral ties through shared knowledge and cultural understanding.
The Embassy of India in N’Djamena, under Dr. Rahman’s leadership, has been instrumental in facilitating this programme since its establishment as India’s first resident mission in Chad in 2023. The students expressed their gratitude for the opportunity and their excitement to experience India’s academic excellence and rich cultural heritage.
