Ajman Police Launch ‘Cross Safely at the Right Place’ Campaign to Strengthen Pedestrian Safety

Ajman: The Ajman Police General Command, through its Traffic and Patrols Department, has launched a new traffic awareness campaign titled “Cross Safely at the Right Place” to promote safe pedestrian practices, reduce run-over accidents, and protect the lives of all road users.

Colonel Rashid Humaid bin Hindi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Ajman Police, said the campaign forms part of the force’s ongoing efforts to enhance traffic safety and instil correct behaviours among pedestrians. It aims to raise awareness about the importance of crossing only at designated places and avoiding risky practices that endanger lives.

The campaign delivers awareness messages in Arabic, English and Urdu. Key advice includes:

•  Using designated pedestrian crossings and bridges

•  Waiting for the pedestrian signal and not rushing

•  Avoiding mobile phone use while crossing

•  Refraining from crossing between vehicles or on highways

Messages are being shared through official media channels, social media platforms and audio-visual outlets to reach diverse segments of the community and highlight the risks of crossing from undesignated areas.

Colonel Rashid bin Hindi urged residents to follow traffic safety guidelines and always choose the correct place to cross. He emphasised that cooperation from road users and commitment to safe behaviour play a vital role in preventing accidents and saving lives.

The initiative reflects Ajman Police’s continued focus on building a safer traffic environment for everyone.
