In the hallowed precincts of Makkah, where faith gathers from every corner of the world and humanity moves in quiet harmony, acts of compassion acquire a deeper resonance. It is in this sacred setting that service transcends duty and becomes devotion.
Reflecting this noble spirit, the OICC Makkah Committee rose to the occasion with a remarkable humanitarian initiative, organizing a large-scale blood donation camp to offer care, time and again for comfort, and reassurance to the millions undertaking the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj.
Held under the theme “Hajj 2026: Caring for the Guests with Compassion,” the camp was conducted on April 23 at King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah. With an unwavering incommensurable commitment to humanitarian service, OICC once again rose to the occasion by prioritizing the safety and well-being of millions of pilgrims arriving from across the globe for Hajj. The foremost aim of this initiative was to ensure the timely availability of blood during emergencies—an effort that reflects both foresight and compassion.
Renowned for its consistent and selfless voluntary service, OICC demonstrated exemplary planning and dedication this year as well. The blood donation camp not only addressed a critical need but also marked the formal commencement of its extensive volunteer service activities for the Hajj season, reaffirming its enduring mission of service in the sacred land.
Guided by the committed leadership of OICC President Naushad Perunthaloor, General Secretary Salim Kannanakuzhi, Vice President Habeeb Kozhikode, Secretary Mubashir Areekode, and Medical Wing Coordinator Abdul Rasheed, the camp stood as a shining example of collective service. Their efforts were further strengthened by the invaluable support of the Head of the Blood Bank, Dr. Sultan Al Malki, along with coordinators Jamshad P.K. and Mohammed Al Sheikh, who ensured seamless arrangements at the hospital.
In a fitting tribute to these commendable humanitarian endeavours, King Abdullah Medical City honored OICC with a certificate of appreciation, recognizing its dedicated service. This acknowledgment not only celebrates the success of the initiative but also inspires continued acts of compassion, reaffirming OICC’s enduring commitment to serve humanity with hope, unity, and unwavering goodwill in the years to come.
