Jeddah, October 23, 2025 – In a proactive step to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Consulate General of India, Jeddah, in collaboration with the Indian Doctors Medical Forum (IDMF) and International Indian School, Jeddah, organized an insightful Breast Cancer Awareness Program on October 22, 2025, at the International Indian School Girls’ Section Auditorium.
The event, themed “Prevention Is Better Than Cure,” was spearheaded by His Excellency Mr. Fahad Ahmad Khan Suri, Consul General of India, Jeddah, with the aim of educating young girls and women in the community about women’s health and early detection of breast cancer.
Mrs. Fehmima Khan Suri graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Revathy, Vice President of IDMF, delivered the keynote address. The program was strongly supported by IDMF President Dr. Ashfaq Maniyar, General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Abdul Saleem, Joint Secretary Dr. Farheen Taha, and Public Relations Officer Dr. Khaja Yamin Uddin.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Farahadunnisa, Vice Principal (Girls’ Section). Mrs. Fehmima Khan Suri, Madam Abida Khatoon, and Dr. Revathy were felicitated with bouquets as a token of respect and gratitude.
Dr. Revathy conducted an engaging and informative session for students of Classes IX to XII, demonstrating self-examination techniques and sharing vital guidelines on preventive measures. The interactive session empowered young girls with knowledge to identify early signs and adopt healthy practices.
Adding a creative touch, students presented a thought-provoking skit and a thematic song on breast cancer awareness, followed by an interactive Q&A session where participants clarified their doubts.
The program was attended by members of the Consulate General of India, Jeddah, and IDMF, reflecting strong community support.
Concluding the event, Mrs. Sadiqa Tarannum, Head Mistress (IX–XII Girls’ Section), delivered the vote of thanks, emphasizing the importance of awareness in combating the disease.
The program left a lasting impact, reinforcing the message: Prevention is always better than cure.
