Hyderabad, July 8, 2025 – Patla Saibaba, a migrant worker from Telangana, has been successfully repatriated to Hyderabad and admitted to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) following a severe road accident in Saudi Arabia. The swift intervention by the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office facilitated his return after he sustained critical head injuries in the incident.
The accident occurred on June 16, 2025, while Saibaba, a resident of Chengal village in Bhingal mandal, Nizamabad district, was driving from Riyadh to Dammam. A sudden tyre burst caused his vehicle to overturn, resulting in serious injuries. Fortunately, his seatbelt prevented a fatal outcome. The Saudi Arabia Telugu Association (SATA), led by president Ranjith Chittaluri and member Nagarjuna, played a pivotal role in supporting Saibaba’s family. SATA raised funds to cover flight expenses and provided ₹2 lakh in financial assistance.
Saibaba is now under medical care at NIMS, where doctors are closely monitoring his condition. The Telangana government’s prompt coordination with local authorities in Saudi Arabia ensured his timely repatriation for advanced treatment.
The incident highlights the challenges faced by migrant workers abroad and the importance of community and governmental support in times of crisis. The Telangana CM’s Office and SATA have been commended for their efforts in ensuring Saibaba’s safe return and ongoing care.
