JEDDAH – The Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association (AMUOBA) Jeddah formally installed its newly elected Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 term during a well-attended ceremony held on June 21, 2026, in the presence of senior Aligs, former presidents, election commissioners, distinguished guests, and members of the fraternity.
The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Qari Fahad Ayub Zinjani, setting a solemn and dignified tone for the occasion.
Congratulating the newly elected office-bearers, members of the association expressed confidence in the new leadership and extended their best wishes for a successful and productive tenure.
Delivering his inaugural address, the newly elected President, Dr. Prince Mufti Ziaul Hasan, outlined his vision for the association, emphasizing service, unity, professional excellence, and meaningful community engagement. Drawing inspiration from the enduring ideals of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, he called for collective efforts to strengthen the association and expand its contribution to society.
The Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 term comprises Dr. Prince Mufti Ziaul Hasan (President), Rabnawaz Khan (Vice President), Athar Rasool(General Secretary), Dr. Mohammad Omaish Ansari(Treasurer), and Mohammed Danish Khan (Joint Secretary). The Cabinet Members are Abid Hussain Aftab, Adnan Shoeb, Arshad Alam Khan, Dr. AbrarAhmad, Fahad Afridi, Fahad Ayub Zinjani, Mohammad Imran Siddiqui, Mohammad Manauar, and Wazir Khan.
The proceedings were conducted by General Secretary Athar Rasool. Election Commissioner Nayyar Mumtazbriefed the gathering on the nomination and election process, while Senior Election Commissioner ImtiazAhmed shared his experiences and congratulated the newly elected team. Vice President Rabnawaz Khanproposed the vote of thanks in Urdu, expressing appreciation to all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the ceremony.
Soon after assuming office, the newly elected Executive Committee paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mr. Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, Consul General of India in Jeddah, for an interaction that lasted nearly two hours.
During the meeting, the Consul General encouraged AMUOBA Jeddah to make greater use of the expertise and global network of the Alig fraternity in contributing to the expanding India–Saudi Arabia partnership. He highlighted opportunities for collaboration in technology, scientific research, innovation, entrepreneurship, trade, and employment, observing that the association’s accomplished academicians, scientists, professionals, and entrepreneurs could play an important role in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The AMUOBA delegation, led by President Dr. Prince Mufti Ziaul Hasan, included General Secretary Athar Rasool, Advisor Engr. Aqeel Jamil, Cabinet members, and senior professionals, including Advocate Mohammad Manauar, Arshad Alam Khan, Mohammad Imran Siddiqui, Wazir Khan, and Adnan Shoeb. The delegation presented the Executive Committee’s vision and roadmap, focusing on community welfare, professional networking, youth empowerment, and initiatives aimed at enhancing the contribution of the Indian diaspora to both India and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Appreciating the association’s constructive vision, the Consul General assured the delegation of the Consulate’s continued support for initiatives that promote the welfare and development of Indian citizens in the Kingdom. He also reaffirmed the Consulate’s commitment to working closely with AMUOBA Jeddah in advancing community welfare and further strengthening the growing India–Saudi Arabia partnership.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing their commitment to continued cooperation and constructive engagement for the benefit of the Indian community, while reinforcing the longstanding friendship between India and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
