JEDDAH, June 13: Jeddah Tamil Sangam (JTS) extended timely humanitarian assistance to repatriate the mortal remains of Mr. Karthik Rajalingam, a native of Pudukkottai district in Tamil Nadu, who tragically lost his life in a road accident on the Jeddah–Rabigh highway on May 21, 2026.
Mr. Karthik Rajalingam was employed as a driver with a private company in Jeddah. Following the unfortunate incident, his grieving family sought assistance from Eng. Kaja Mohideen of Jeddah Tamil Sangam to help bring his mortal remains back to India.
Responding promptly to the request, Eng. Kaja Mohideen, with the support and guidance of the Consulate General of India in Jeddah, coordinated with the employer, hospital authorities, and other concerned agencies to complete the necessary legal and administrative formalities for the repatriation process.
As part of the arrangements, a free ambulance service provided by the Government of Tamil Nadu was also coordinated to transport the mortal remains from Chennai Airport to the deceased’s native place in Pudukkottai district.
Mr. Manikandan, a Tamil employee working in the same company as the deceased, played a supportive role by assisting with hospital-related procedures and documentation.
The mortal remains arrived in Chennai on June 9, 2026, and were received by the bereaved family members.
The family and relatives of the deceased expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Eng. Kaja Mohideen and the members of Jeddah Tamil Sangam for their compassionate support, dedicated efforts, and humanitarian service during their time of grief.
