Jeddah – AMUOBA Jeddah successfully conducted its General Body Meeting with an excellent turnout, reflecting the unity and spirit of the Alig community.
General Secretary Dr. Prince Zia Mufti, welcomed the gathering and appreciated the strong participation of the Alig community. He emphasized the importance of unity, cooperation, and continued engagement in advancing AMUOBA Jeddah’s mission.
President Eng. Aqeel Jamil Khan presented the report of the outgoing Executive Committee (2024–2026). He highlighted several impactful initiatives, including the Youth Leadership Program (YLP), educational sponsorship for underprivileged children in Aligarh, the AI & Data Science Seminar organized in collaboration with the Consulate General of India, Jeddah and hosted at IISJ, which attracted over 600 students, sponsorship of the 4th Annual Underwater Robotic Car Design Contest(AMUROVc 4.0) at Aligarh Muslim University, and the Hybrid Career Guidance Seminar conducted in collaboration with the Training & Placement Office, AMU, which attracted over 400 registered AMU students online and 50 students in Jeddah. The seminar featured distinguished industry leaders from Information Technology, Business Management, Medicine, and Mechanical Engineering, providing valuable career guidance to students and young professionals.
As a token of appreciation for their dedicated service and commitment during the 2024–2026 tenure, President Eng. Aqeel Jamil Khan arranged appreciation plaques for the Executive Committee members and acknowledged the invaluable guidance of the Advisors. The plaques were presented by senior Aligs in recognition of their contributions to the Association.
The General Body unanimously approved the appointment of Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed and Mr. Nayyer Mumtaz as Election Commissioners to oversee the formation of the new Executive Committee. The election schedule was subsequently announced, with elections scheduled for 20 June 2026.
Vice President Mr. Asim Zeeshan Khan delivered the Vote of Thanks, appreciating the support of members, advisors, and Alig community .
The meeting concluded on a positive note, reaffirming AMUOBA Jeddah’s commitment to community service, youth empowerment, and the ideals of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.
