RIYADH: In a powerful expression of humanitarian spirit and community unity, the Tamil Kalachara Kazhagam (Tamil Cultural Society TCS) organised a grand blood donation campaign at King Fahad Medical City on Friday, 22 May 2026. For over three decades, TCS has stood as a beacon of service in Riyadh, steadfastly promoting Tamil language, cultural heritage, and philanthropic values, bringing to mind the timeless spirit of compassion, solidarity, and selfless service towards humanity and social welfare.
The humanitarian event was ceremoniously inaugurated by Mr. Noor Muhammad of Meemisal, a distinguished social activist and Coordinator of the Indians Welfare Forum, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and commended the remarkable efforts of the organisers in fostering a spirit of altruism and communal harmony.
Driven by the noble mission of saving precious lives, the humanitarian initiative witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 100 participants uniting in a remarkable display of compassion and social solidarity. Nearly 50 eligible donors came forward to donate blood, reflecting exemplary humanitarian commitment and civic responsibility. The occasion was further elevated by the esteemed presence and wholehearted participation of representatives and members from the Indians Welfare Forum, Riyadh Tamil Sangam, Riyadh Indian Association, Riyadh Dragons Cricket Club, and several other prominent social and cultural organisations.
Organised with the noble mission of saving precious lives during medical emergencies, the humanitarian initiative received an overwhelming response from the Tamil community and well-wishers across Riyadh. More than 100 participants, including community leaders, volunteers, and members of various organisations, united in a remarkable spirit of solidarity and social responsibility. Their collective presence, tireless involvement, and steadfast commitment transformed the occasion into a vibrant embodiment of communal harmony, humanitarian spirit, and exemplary social unity.
At the conclusion of the programme, the Tamil Cultural Society honoured the Blood Bank Department of King Fahad Medical City with a commemorative memento in recognition of their invaluable humanitarian service and cooperation. Certificates of appreciation were also presented to the medical professionals, support staff, and blood donors whose selfless dedication made the life-saving initiative a remarkable success. Speaking on behalf of TCS, senior member Mr. Shahul Hameed expressed heartfelt gratitude to all contributors for their compassion, commitment, and unwavering spirit of humanity. Refreshments and snacks arranged for participants further reflected the organisers’ warmth and hospitality.
Concluding the humanitarian initiative on a heartfelt note, programme coordinator Mr. Arif Abdul Salam expressed sincere gratitude to all Tamil organisations, participants, donors, volunteers, and well-wishers whose wholehearted support ensured the grand success of the camp.
