Riyadh, September 27, 2025 – The Embassy of India in Riyadh, in collaboration with MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, successfully organized the Viksit Bharat Run 2025 today. Held simultaneously across over 150 international locations, the event emerged as a global celebration of service, fitness, and sustainability, uniting communities worldwide under the vision of a developed India by 2047.
In Riyadh, over 200 runners and volunteers, including members of the Indian diaspora, local communities, students, professionals, and friends of India, participated enthusiastically in a 4-kilometer community run. Organized as part of Seva Pakhwada (September 17 – October 2), the event reflected India’s transformative progress in infrastructure, healthcare, technology, education, and sustainability under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Under the theme “Run to Serve the Nation,” participants in Riyadh turned the run into a powerful statement of unity, embodying the spirit of Seva Bhav (service) and Prime Minister Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047. The event also highlighted India’s Swadeshi ethos, emphasizing self-reliance, inclusivity, and environmental responsibility.
A key highlight was the collective recitation of the Viksit Bharat and Aatmanirbhar Bharat Pledge, where participants committed to contributing to India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation by 2047. This gesture connected Riyadh’s community with Indians worldwide, reinforcing a shared aspiration for growth, innovation, and global leadership.
The “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign saw participants plant approximately 50 saplings in honor of loved ones, underscoring the link between personal responsibility and environmental sustainability. This initiative served as a living reminder of India’s commitment to building a greener planet.
The Viksit Bharat Run fostered diaspora engagement and youth mobilization, with Indian Missions partnering with community groups, cultural bodies, and local organizations globally. The event embodied the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – “the world is one family.” From London and Paris to New York, Moscow, and Riyadh, Indian communities ran together, celebrating their heritage and reaffirming their role in India’s journey toward Viksit Bharat. In Riyadh, officials from the Saudi Ministry of Sport, local police authorities, and journalists attended, highlighting the event’s role in connecting India’s development story with the global community.
The Viksit Bharat Run 2025 stands as one of India’s largest global outreach initiatives, carrying a message of unity, resilience, and shared responsibility. It showcased India’s cultural and developmental achievements while sowing seeds of hope and service for a stronger, more inclusive India.
