Riyadh: The Embassy of India in Riyadh marked Day Four of the third edition of “Pravasi Parichay” on October 31, 2025, with a vibrant showcase of India’s cultural diversity, coinciding with National Unity Day and the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The evening, held at the Embassy Auditorium, featured captivating performances from Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, and Jammu & Kashmir, highlighting the rich artistic traditions of these states.
Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan addressed the gathering, emphasizing Sardar Patel’s enduring vision of unity and nation-building. “This festival reinforces the bonds of our shared ethos and traditions,” he stated.
Tamil Nadu enthralled the audience with a Classical Drum Performance, energetic Folklore Kids Group Dance, graceful Bharatanatyam, and the dynamic martial art Silambam. Jammu & Kashmir presented the elegant Kashmiri Rouf Dance, while Maharashtra’s acts included devotional Ganesh Aaradhana, a Chatrapati Shivaji song, Dahi Handi, Lavani, and lively Folk Dance sequences.
Goa brought festive energy through the Goan Kunbi Folk Dance. Telangana’s showcase featured Mathuri Folk Dance, Gussadi Dance, Bonalu Festival, Bathukamma, Telangana Folk Dance, Hyderabadi Marfa Baraat, and soulful Qawwali performances.
Andhra Pradesh highlighted its heritage with themes of Gangamma, Arthanareeshwar, Varaha, and Classical Dance.
Beyond the stage, state-themed stalls offered immersive experiences of local cuisine, art, and traditions, engaging the Indian diaspora in Saudi Arabia.
Organized in partnership with diaspora associations since its launch in 2023, Pravasi Parichay continues to foster cultural pride. The festival will feature two more state-themed days on November 1 and 2, concluding on November 3 with ‘Gita Mahotsav’, a special celebration of the Bhagavad Gita.
