Hyderabad, December 13, 2025 – The Hyderabadi community is mourning the loss of Syed Mohammed Fazalullah Urf Iqbal Nawab, a prominent figure known for his eloquence and ties to the city’s storied nobility, who passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 55. Fazalullah succumbed after a prolonged illness, having been bedridden since a tragic accident, as shared by his grieving family.
Born into a lineage of distinction, Fazalullah was the son of the late Mir Ali Hyder Urf Hyder Nawab, former General Manager of the revered Urdu daily Rahnuma-e-Deccan. He was also the grandson of Nawab Fazal Nawaz Jung Bahadur (c. 1894–1964), a towering personality who served as Home Secretary in the princely State of Hyderabad Deccan, later becoming a key financier, politician, and Speaker of the Hyderabad Legislative Council. This heritage placed Fazalullah firmly within the traditional circles of Hyderabadi nobility, where he was admired for his grace and community involvement.
A large turnout of relatives, friends, and well-wishers gathered to pay their respects at his funeral. The Namaz-e-Janaza was performed at a local mosque in Narsingi, Hyderabad, followed by burial at the serene cemetery enclosure of Dargah Yousufain, a site cherished for its spiritual significance in the City.
Beyond his noble roots, Fazalullah carved a niche as an exceptional orator through his active participation in Toastmasters International. During his professional stint in Saudi Arabia, he was a valued member of the Riyadh Toastmasters Club (RTM), where he sharpened his public speaking skills. Upon returning to Hyderabad, he joined the Vision Toastmasters Club, clinching multiple contests and earning acclaim for his commanding English proficiency and professional demeanor. “He had a voice that could inspire and unite,” recalled a fellow Toastmaster, highlighting Fazalullah’s lasting impact on the local chapter.
Fazalullah is survived by his mother, wife, and three daughters, who have requested privacy during this period of sorrow. His passing has cast a shadow over the Old City and Toastmasters circles, where tributes continue to pour in, celebrating a life of quiet dignity and vibrant expression.
