Nearly 250 members of the Tamil diaspora—including families, professionals, and community members—graced the occasion, creating a vibrant atmosphere of togetherness and shared joy. The presence of Tamil nurses serving in Madinah, representing various regions of Tamil Nadu, added a special significance to the gathering, reflecting the community’s diversity and collective pride.
The programme began on a spiritually uplifting note with a melodious recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Ms. Anisa Abdullah, setting a serene tone for the evening. This was followed by Ms. Minha Akbar presenting the revered Tamil Thaai Vazhthu, a traditional invocation honouring the Tamil language and its rich cultural heritage.
Welcoming the attendees, Aasif Ali Seth greeted the gathering warmly and highlighted the importance of unity, harmony, and mutual respect among members of the expatriate Tamil community. The evening was further enriched by an insightful keynote address delivered by Aalima Nashi Abdullah, who reflected on the deeper values of faith, compassion, and social responsibility, inspiring the audience with her thoughtful message.
The presidential address was delivered by Hajrath Shajahan of Tamil Nadu Catering, who underscored the importance of collective goodwill, service to society, and sustained community engagement. Thoppu Thurai Faisal and Embassy Jamal Jahir also shared brief remarks, appreciating the organisers’ efforts in strengthening the bonds of unity among Tamils residing in Madinah.
The event was smoothly and elegantly compered by Hajrath Shahul, whose lively presentation added charm and continuity to the proceedings. One of the highlights of the evening was the felicitation of individuals who had rendered dedicated services to Hajj pilgrims in previous years. Their selfless efforts in assisting the guests of Allah were warmly acknowledged by the community.
The dinner arrangements for the event were generously sponsored by Mr. Yaser and Minhaj of Diamond Kitchen, along with Mr. Shajahan and Mr. Askar of Tamil Nadu Catering. In appreciation of their generous support and hospitality, they were honoured by Mr. Abu Inban, Head of Madinah NRTIA, amidst applause from the gathering.
The Grand Eid Milan concluded in a spirit of gratitude and fellowship, strengthening the bonds of unity and cultural identity among the Tamil community in the blessed city of Madinah.
