Kalaburagi, September 29, 2025 – In a milestone achievement for Khaja Bandanawaz (KBN) University, research scholar Nikhat Fatima from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering has become the first student to earn a PhD from the institution.
Under the guidance of Dr. Sameena Banu, Assistant Professor in the Department of Technology and Engineering, Nikhat Fatima’s doctoral thesis titled “Visual Media Transformations and Methods to Prevent Fraud Using Them” addresses critical challenges in digital security and media integrity. Her work explores innovative techniques to detect and mitigate fraud in visual content, a topic increasingly relevant in the era of deepfakes and digital manipulation.
Established in 2018 as a private religious minority university in Kalaburagi, Karnataka, KBN University has rapidly grown to offer programs in engineering, technology, medical sciences, arts, commerce, and more.
