Jeddah, December 31, 2025: In a significant development, Ms. Sadaf Choudhary has been appointed as the Hajj Consul at the Consulate General of India in Jeddah, marking the first time a woman Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer has assumed this important position.
Ms. Choudhary, who secured an outstanding All India Rank 23 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2020, brings remarkable merit, dedication, and commitment to public service to her new role.
In her capacity as Hajj Consul, she is poised to play a pivotal role in ensuring the welfare, safety, and comfort of Indian pilgrims during the annual Hajj pilgrimage. Her efforts will focus on enhancing coordination with Saudi authorities and Hajj service providers to deliver seamless and effective arrangements.
The appointment reflects the continued proactive leadership of H.E. Mr. Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, Consul General of India in Jeddah, whose initiatives have consistently strengthened support for Indian pilgrims and the community.
