Riyadh, September 24, 2025: The Hindustani Bazme Urdu (HBU) Riyadh held its Executive Committee (Excom) meeting on Sunday, September 21, 2025, to elect its new leadership. Mohammed Saifuddin, a prominent social figure, senior journalist, joint editor of YaHind.Com, and active Toastmasters Club member, was unanimously elected as President. The meeting also appointed Abdul Quddus Jaweed as Vice President, Syed Abdul Hamid as General Secretary, Farooq Uddin as Joint Secretary, and Mohammed Mubin as Treasurer.
The announcement was made by Architect Mohammed A. R. Saleem, Patron and former President of HBU, who extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected office-bearers. He expressed confidence that the new leadership would advance the forum’s mission to promote Urdu language and culture among Indian expatriates in Riyadh. The President and the newly formed Excom will nominate the remaining office-bearers in the coming days.
Established in the early 1990s, Hindustani Bazme Urdu has been instrumental in promoting Urdu among the Indian diaspora in Riyadh. The forum has organized notable initiatives, including competitions for students of International Indian Schools and various cultural and literary programs to foster appreciation for Urdu, particularly among the younger generation.
Architect Mohammed A. R. Saleem offered prayers for the success of the new leadership, stating, “We pray to Allah SWT to bless the newly elected body to work tirelessly for the development and promotion of the Urdu language.”
