Jeddah (Report by Syed Abdul Wahab Qadri): Under the auspices of Iqbal Academy Jeddah (IAJ), the overseas branch of Iqbal Academy Hyderabad, a dignified and spiritually radiant Naat recital was held on 22 November 2025 at the residence of the Vice President and General Secretary of IAJ, *Mr. Mohammed Faheemuddin. The gathering was organized with deep devotion to mark the joyous arrival of renowned Deccani poet and Naat reciter, the *“Bulbul-e-Dakan” *Dr. Tayyeb Pasha Qadri, who is currently visiting the holy land for *Umrah and Ziyarat of the Haramain Sharifain.
The blessed event was further graced by distinguished Saudi literary figure *Mr. Abdul Qadeer Hasan Siddiqui, grandson of the celebrated scholar Hazrat Abdul Qadeer Siddiqui Hasrat (RA), as well as *Mr. Syed Jalal Pasha Qadri, son of the eminent scholar Hazrat Syed Rasheed Pasha Qadri (RA), who attended as Guests of Honour.
The session was presided over by noted researcher, writer, and Naat poet Syed Waheed Al-Qadri Arif.
The program commenced with a soul-stirring recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Hafiz Hidayatullah Tauseef Khan, filling the gathering with light and serenity.
This was followed by *Mazhar Farooq Ali, a young student, who recited Naat-e-Iqbal, while *Mohammed Asif Qadri presented selected verses of Allama Iqbal in praise of the Holy Prophet ﷺ. Their heartfelt renditions were warmly appreciated by the audience.
Chief Advisor Mohammed Shameem Kauser welcomed the guests and supervised the arrangements, while *Secretary Syed Abdul Wahab Quadri, in his address of welcome, highlighted the spiritual significance of the Naat gathering.The host and compere of the evening, *Mr. Mohammed Faheemuddin, conducted the program with his distinct scholarly and literary style, enhancing the elegance and emotional depth of the ceremony.
Renowned poets from Jeddah’s literary circle presented their tributes in praise of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, including:
Afsar Barabankwi, Athar Abbasi, Mohammed Farhatullah Khan, Tashfeen Syed, Syed Afzaluddin, and Noshaad Usman Karam.
Each poet recited verses infused with love and reverence for the Prophet ﷺ, giving the gathering a deeply spiritual and ecstatic atmosphere.
The guest of honour, *Dr. Tayyeb Pasha Qadri, mesmerized the audience with his melodious and heartfelt recitation of Naat. The audience’s repeated requests led him to also recite a famous Deccani Naat written by his illustrious father, the renowned poet *Behosh Mahboob Nagari. The recital moved the audience, who responded with repeated exclamations of “SubhanAllah!”
President of the evening Syed Waheed Al-Qadri Arif presented two of his own Naat compositions—one new and one classical—which received tremendous admiration. He also recited a beautifully composed Naat written by his respected ancestor, Hazrat Mufti Syed Abdul Rasheed Qadri Akhtar (RA), whose devotional tone and inherited spiritual grace deeply touched the hearts of all present.
The gathering was enriched by the presence of several notable academic, literary, religious, and social personalities, including:
Arif Qureshi, Dr. Amjad Junedi, Mubassir Al-Azam, Mohammed Nawaz Janjua, Ahmed Basha, and others.
The event’s success was attributed to the dedicated teamwork of Iqbal Academy Jeddah.
Media team members Mohammed Asif Qadri and Abdul Rahman ensured seamless *live streaming on YouTube, enabling viewers from Asia, the United States, and other regions to watch the event in real time. Additional support was provided by Joint Secretary *Tauseef Khan and executive members *Riyaz Ahmed, Murtaza Sharif Sabir, Meraj Ali, Salman Jibran, and other volunteers including *Faseehuddin Faheem and Faraz Ahmed.
The evening concluded in an atmosphere of divine serenity with a heartfelt Salaam presented by *Mohammed Nawaz Janjua, followed by an emotional prayer led by *Mr. Jalal Pasha, and a gracious dinner.
Participants described the gathering as memorable, impactful, and filled with love for the Holy Prophet ﷺ. Each poet was honoured with a traditional shawl, while the special guest Dr. Tayyeb Pasha Qadri received a ceremonial Shaya Poshi (robe of honour).
The event also drew special attention from viewers across different cities. From Hyderabad (India), *Mr. Syed Mahmood Hashmi, President of Iqbal Academy Jeddah; **Mr. Ziauddin Nayyer, President of Iqbal Academy Hyderabad; and *Mr. Mohammed Abdul Mujeeb Siddiqi joined via YouTube. From the UAE, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Haq Hashim also watched the program live.
