Riyadh: As part of its ongoing community outreach efforts, the Embassy of India in Riyadh hosted a special reception this evening at India House for members of the Indian community in Saudi Arabia. The event, held against the backdrop of the prevailing situation in the region, provided a valuable platform for interaction and reinforced the spirit of unity and resilience within the community.
Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, addressed the gathering and expressed sincere appreciation for the remarkable composure and resilience shown by the Indian community during these challenging times. He particularly commended community members for standing shoulder to shoulder with their Saudi friends and brethren, reflecting the deep mutual respect and strong people-to-people ties between the two nations.
In his remarks, Ambassador Khan highlighted the Embassy’s various initiatives to ensure uninterrupted support to the Indian diaspora. He stressed the importance of adhering to the advisories issued by the Embassy from time to time. A 24-hour helpline has been operational round-the-clock to address queries and provide assistance. Consular services have continued efficiently without any disruption, and consular camps were organized even under difficult circumstances to reach community members closer to their places of residence and work.
The Ambassador also noted the Embassy’s coordination with schools and parents to address concerns regarding CBSE examinations. He informed that the JEE examinations were successfully conducted in the Kingdom recently, ensuring minimal impact on students despite the regional challenges.
Reaffirming India’s steadfast position, Ambassador Khan emphasized that India has always stood firmly with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in support of its security, stability, and sovereignty. He reiterated India’s strong condemnation of attacks against the Kingdom and expressed India’s unwavering commitment to promoting peace, dialogue, and stability in the region.
The Ambassador concluded by extending heartfelt gratitude to community leaders and volunteers for their tireless efforts and invaluable cooperation in supporting fellow Indians. He reassured the gathering that the Embassy remains fully committed to the welfare of the Indian community and that all necessary assistance and consular services will continue to be readily available.
