New Delhi, July 8, 2025 – The Haj Committee of India, under the Ministry of Minority Affairs, has announced that the application process for Haj 2026 will officially close on July 31, 2025. Intending pilgrims are urged to submit their applications through the online Haj Application Form, accessible via the official website (https://hajcommittee.gov.in) or the ‘Haj Suvidha’ mobile application, available for both iPhone and Android devices.
The application window, which opened on July 7, 2025, provides a one-month period for Indian Muslims to register for the sacred pilgrimage. The Ministry emphasized the importance of completing applications within the stipulated timeframe to ensure eligibility for Haj 2026 (1447 AH). Applicants are required to have a machine-readable passport valid until at least December 31, 2026, and should prepare to pay the first installment of ₹1.5 lakh.
The Haj Committee has advised pilgrims to adhere to the guidelines outlined on the official portal, including ensuring that the surname/last name field in passports complies with the Nusuk portal requirements. Cancellations, except in cases of death or severe medical emergencies, may incur penalties and financial losses.
This announcement follows the success of Haj 2025, which saw a record low fatality rate and improved services, as highlighted by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju. The government aims to make Haj 2026 even more seamless with a fully digital application process and enhanced facilities, including considerations for separate accommodations for men and women and mandatory companions for pilgrims over 65.
For detailed guidelines and to apply, visit https://hajcommittee.gov.in or download the Haj Suvidha app. Pilgrims are encouraged to act promptly to avoid last-minute issues and secure their opportunity to undertake this spiritual journey.
