Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – September 29, 2025 – In a vibrant display of youthful ingenuity, the International Indian Professionals Association (IIPA), in partnership with Yara International School, successfully hosted FutureX 2025, an interschool science expo that drew over 600 registrations and featured more than 120 groundbreaking student projects. Held on September 27, the event transformed Riyadh into a bustling center for emerging scientific talent, with participants from junior, middle, and senior categories showcasing inventions that addressed real-world challenges.
The expo highlighted a diverse array of projects, from AI-enhanced mobility aids like smart canes and bionic arms to practical solutions such as gas leakage detectors and intelligent waste management systems. Organizers described the gathering as a testament to the power of curiosity, creativity, and cross-cultural collaboration, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s growing role in fostering global innovation.
The day kicked off with a unifying performance of the national anthems of Saudi Arabia and India, setting an inclusive tone. Mr. Mujahid Ali delivered the opening address, welcoming attendees to a lineup of engaging sessions designed to inspire and educate.
Among the highlights were interactive workshops and discussions, including:
- “Who Am I? Exploring Personality” by Mr. Kaleem Syed, which helped students identify their personality types and enhance everyday interactions.
- A panel on “Technology, Innovation, and the Future of Education”, moderated by Mrs. Juwaria and featuring experts Er. Farhan Hashmi, Mr. Furqan Ahmed, and Prof. Farooq Adil. Er. Farhan Hashmi shared insightful views, stating: “In an AI-driven educational future, we must integrate coaching and Neuro-Linguistic Programming to cultivate essential human skills—motivation, creativity, and resilience—fostering a ‘Spiritual Quotient’ that empowers students to find purpose and thrive in a tech-driven world.”
- “Unlocking the Student Superpower” by Mrs. Sushma Shan, focusing on personalized learning styles, concentration techniques, and emotional intelligence building.
The event’s pinnacle was the presidential address by Dr. Shafeeq Ahmed, who urged the young innovators to harness science for global good. “Let us use science not to divide, but to unite. Let your discoveries serve humanity. Go forth, innovate, and build a future where every person can live with dignity, where every voice is heard, and where peace and prosperity are not a dream, but a shared reality,” he said.
The awards ceremony celebrated the top projects, recognizing the students’ exceptional problem-solving abilities:
- Junior Category Winner: Gas leakage alarm notification system by Umaima and Inaya from MMEIS.
- Middle Category Winner: Waste Management Solution by Aaira Falak from Alif School.
- Senior Category Winner: Navi Axis by Nafeesa Khan from Al Yasmeen.
Mentors and schools were also commended for their pivotal roles in cultivating a passion for science.
Mrs. Aasima, Principal of Yara International School, lauded the expo’s impact: “FutureX 2025 was one of the most impressive educational events we have hosted. The selection of speakers, the quality of projects, and the professionalism of IIPA made this a memorable day for our students and faculty.”
