Riyadh, 4 November 2025 – In a soul-stirring finale to Pravasi Parichay 2025, the Embassy of India in Riyadh presented “Gita Mahotsav – A Musical”, a spectacular dance-drama that transformed the eternal teachings of the Bhagavad Gita into a cascade of melody and movement.
The evening opened with a special video message from Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, setting a tone of pride and reverence. Over 500 guests, including diplomats, community leaders and families, filled the auditorium as young female artistes of Vaidehi Nritha Vidyalayam, Riyadh, took centre stage. Through intricate footwork, expressive abhinaya and live orchestral renditions of Sanskrit shlokas, the students breathed life into Krishna’s battlefield counsel to Arjuna—messages of dharma, karma and selfless devotion.
His Excellency Dr Suhel Ajaz Khan, Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia, addressed the gathering: “Tonight we celebrate not just art, but the living thread that binds every Indian abroad to Bharat’s 5,000-year-old civilizational heartbeat. Gita Mahotsav in Riyadh is our humble echo of the International Gita Mahotsav that will soon unfold in Kurukshetra.”
The event was elevated by the presence of Padma Shri and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee Smt Pratibha Prahlad, who applauded the young performers for “turning philosophy into poetry through their bodies and souls”.
Launched in 2023, the Pravasi Parichay series has become the Embassy’s signature platform to showcase India’s diverse cultural mosaic. This year’s curtain-closer proved yet again that ancient wisdom, when wrapped in youthful creativity, transcends borders and generations.
As the final curtain fell amid thunderous applause, one message rang clear: in the heart of the Arabian Peninsula, the Gita’s call for harmony and duty continues to inspire a global Indian family.
