By YaHind News Desk New Delhi, November 11, 2025: In a shocking escalation of violence in the heart of India’s capital, the death toll from a devastating car explosion near the iconic Red Fort has risen to 12, with investigations pointing to a possible suicide bombing linked to a terror module in Faridabad. The blast, which occurred late Monday evening, has triggered a nationwide security alert, with authorities invoking anti-terror laws and vowing to dismantle the conspiracy behind the attack.
The explosion ripped through a white Hyundai i20 at a busy traffic signal near the Red Fort Metro Station around 6:52 PM on November 10, 2025. Eyewitnesses described the scene as apocalyptic: “It felt like an earthquake… body parts were scattered everywhere,” one survivor recounted in ground reports. The blast not only obliterated the vehicle but ignited a fierce fire that damaged six cars, two e-rickshaws, and an autorickshaw, shattering windows in nearby buildings and sending shockwaves felt hundreds of meters away.
Emergency calls flooded the Delhi Fire Service between 6:50 PM and 7:05 PM, prompting the dispatch of seven fire tenders. The blaze was brought under control by 7:29 PM, but the site remained cordoned off for forensic teams from the National Security Guard (NSG) and National Investigation Agency (NIA).
What began as a report of eight to ten fatalities has now climbed to 12, with three more victims succumbing to their injuries overnight at hospitals like Lok Nayak and Safdarjung. Over 20-30 others remain under treatment for burns, shrapnel wounds, and blast trauma. Home Minister Amit Shah personally visited Lok Nayak Hospital early Tuesday to meet the injured and chair a high-level review meeting, assuring them of comprehensive support.
Doctors noted an unusual absence of “blackening” on the victims’ bodies—typically seen in conventional bomb blasts—prompting investigators to probe whether alternative explosives or devices were used.
Delhi Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Explosives Act, classifying the incident as a potential “fidayeen” (suicide) attack. CCTV footage reveals the car was parked near Sunehri Masjid from 3:19 PM until 6:48 PM before moving to the blast site. It was last driven by Umar Mohammed, a Pulwama-based doctor suspected of ties to the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind terror networks.
The plot thickens with revelations of a morning raid in Faridabad, where Jammu and Kashmir Police, alongside Uttar Pradesh forces, seized 2,900 kg of explosive materials—including 358 kg of ammonium nitrate, chemicals, and electronic circuits—from a module linked to the same groups. Sources suggest the suspect shifted to a suicide-style operation to maximize casualties after the module’s bust, possibly evading capture.
Further links point to Sadiya Azhar and a JeM women’s wing led by Dr. Shaheen (or Shaheena Shahid), a close associate of main accused Dr. Muzammil. Raids are ongoing in multiple locations, with the NIA leading the charge.
Misinformation has flooded social media, including false claims of a CNG leak and doctored images from a 2024 Beirut incident. Authorities urge the public to rely on verified sources.
From Bhutan, where he arrived for a state visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed profound grief: “The horrific incident in Delhi has disturbed everyone. Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy. The conspirators will not be spared—all those responsible will be brought to justice.” He reviewed the situation with Shah and other officials before departing Delhi.
Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha confirmed heightened vigilance at airports, railway stations, and bus terminals. Alerts have rippled across Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, and pilgrimage sites like Vaishno Devi and Somnath, with dog squads, bomb disposal units, and social media monitoring in full swing.
Bollywood stars joined the national mourning: Raveena Tandon, Sonu Sood, Vijay, and Sidharth Malhotra offered condolences, with Tandon posting, “Delhi, stay strong and safe.” Political figures, including Odisha Red Cross Chairman Ranjan Kumar Biswal, echoed prayers for the bereaved.
As the nation reels, YaHind.com stands with Delhi. Updates will follow as the investigation unfolds. Our thoughts are with the victims’ families—may justice be swift.
