Toronto, Canada/Hyderabad – December 31, 2025: In a profound loss to the Indian Muslim diaspora, Br. Salim Zubaidi, a dedicated social worker and beloved figure in the Indian Muslim community in Saudi Arabia, passed away in Canada today. Known for his sincerity, generosity, and lifelong commitment to uplifting others, his demise has left thousands mourning a man who touched countless lives through his kindness and activism.
Hailing from Mahboobnagar in Telangana, India—near Hyderabad, Br. Zubaidi pursued a career as an electrical engineer. He spent a significant portion of his professional life in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he served as a product manager in a local company until recently. Beyond his engineering role, he was deeply involved in social work, associating with numerous organizations in Riyadh and often invited to community gatherings.
Br. Zubaidi had a strong affiliation with Jamaat-e-Islami, dedicating his life to promoting its ideals. Described as a “mujahid of the movement,” he actively participated in all its gatherings and possessed a profound knowledge of Islamic history, frequently sharing insights in speeches and discussions. His efforts earned him admiration as a pillar of the Indian Muslim community in Saudi Arabia, where he was seen as an oasis of support amid expatriate challenges.
Details surrounding his passing in Canada remain limited, but tributes highlight his enduring impact. One associate recalled long-standing ties, noting, “He was a social activist associated with many Riyadh organizations, deeply committed to Jamaat-e-Islami, and spent his life advancing it.” Another described him as “a sincere personality, dear to thousands, beloved in the Saudi Indian Muslim community, full of good deeds.”
