On June 14, 2025, Narayankhed bid farewell to one of its most revered sons, Advocate Mohammed Abdul Rafeeq Saheb, who passed away at the age of 69. His final rites were performed at Jama Masjid, Narayankhed, in Sangareddy District, Telangana, surrounded by family, friends, and countless admirers who gathered to honor a life dedicated to justice, compassion, and service. Born on February 17, 1956, Rafeeq Saheb’s journey was one of resilience, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting those around him.
A Humble Beginning and a Storied Career
Rafeeq Saheb’s professional life began with humble roots in 1983 as a stenographer at the Munsif Court in Narayankhed. Through dedication and principled service, he rose through the ranks, serving over 20 years at the Medak District Court in Sangareddy, eventually retiring as Judicial Superintendent in 2014. His passion for justice, however, could not be confined to retirement. That same year, he enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council (Enrollment No. AP/449/2014) and began practicing at the City Civil Court, Hyderabad. Known for his bold arguments, deep legal acumen, and fearless pursuit of truth, he quickly earned the respect of the legal community.

In 2018, alongside his close companion, Mr. M.A. Basith, a retired Junior Civil Judge and practicing advocate at the City Civil Court, Hyderabad, Rafeeq Saheb was appointed as Legal Advisor to the Telangana State Minorities Commission. Together, they championed the cause of the underrepresented, addressing their concerns with empathy and resolve. His professional circle also included esteemed colleagues like Advocate Mohammad Khaja Nizamuddin, District President of AIMIM Sangareddy and Executive Member of the Sangareddy Court Bar Association, and Advocate Dasi Ramesh, a distinguished High Court advocate. These bonds, forged through shared values and a commitment to justice, defined his professional legacy.
A Life Beyond the Courtroom
Advocate Rafeeq Saheb’s contributions extended far beyond legal battles. His heart for social service led him to support countless individuals with his skills, time, and resources. He never turned away anyone in need, earning him a reputation as a pillar of compassion in his community. His selflessness and dedication touched lives across Narayankhed and beyond, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Bas unki yaadein wahi ki wahi reh gayi.”
A Loving Family Man
Rafeeq Saheb was a devoted family man, survived by his six children: four daughters—Ayesha Sultana, Amena Afreen, Adeeba Ashreen, and Aliya Iram—and two sons, Mohd Amer and Mohammad Anas. His eldest son, Mohd Amer, a B.Tech (EEE) graduate, serves as an electrical engineer at INDIS Corporate Office, a prominent real estate developer in Hyderabad. His youngest daughter is pursuing an M.Sc. in Physics at G. Pulla Reddy College, Mehdipatnam, while his three elder daughters are happily married. Mohammad Anas, the youngest of the family, carries forward his father’s legacy of integrity and service. He is currently pursuing his BA LLB in his 4th year at Sultan Ul Uloom College of Law, Hyderabad, dedicated to upholding the principles of justice that his father championed.
A Lasting Legacy
Advocate Mohammed Abdul Rafeeq Saheb was more than a legal luminary; he was a beacon of hope, a champion of truth, and a servant of the people. His life was a testament to the power of integrity, compassion, and courage. As Narayankhed mourns the loss of a great soul, his legacy endures in the lives he touched, the justice he upheld, and the love he shared.
“Ek sachche insaan ka jaana,
Sirf ek ghar ka gham nahi hota,
Ek sheher ki rooh chali jaati hai.”
May Allah ﷻ forgive his shortcomings, shower His mercy upon him, and grant him a place in Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.
