JEDDAH: Every remarkable journey in medicine begins with curiosity and a commitment to serving humanity.
Reinforcing the timeless belief that medicine is a calling, not just a career, Abeer Medical Group launched the inaugural phase of MedPath, a pioneering career guidance programme organised in collaboration with the Good Will Global Initiative (GGI), inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals. The initiative brought together 22 exceptional students from schools across Jeddah, selected through GGI’s Talent Lab programme, for an immersive visit to Abeer Medical Centre, Sharafiyah.
Designed to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals, the three-hour experiential programme introduced students from Grade 8 onwards to the realities of modern medicine through a comprehensive clinical immersion. Upon arrival, the participants were warmly received by Operations Manager Sultan Mahmood before assembling in the conference hall, proudly wearing their MedPath badges as they embarked on an inspiring journey into the healthcare profession.
Dr. Niaz Sirajudeen, the perspicacious Head of the Emergency Department at Abeer Medical Centre, captivated the students with an insightful presentation highlighting the vast opportunities and ever-evolving landscape of contemporary healthcare.
Drawing upon his extensive clinical experience, he encouraged students to view medicine not merely as a profession, but as a lifelong commitment to compassion, innovation, and service.
He later guided the participants through an immersive hospital tour, dividing them into two groups for visits to the Pathology, Radiology, Dental, ENT Outpatient Clinics, and Emergency Department. The hands-on experience provided students with a rare behind-the-scenes insight into multidisciplinary healthcare delivery and the coordinated efforts that underpin quality patient care.
The clinical sessions were meticulously coordinated by Dr. Niaz Sirajudeen and Operations Executive Abeer. Specialists including Dr. Jamal, Nabeela Mustafa, Abdul Khayyum, Dr. Sabrin, and Dr. Jayapriya introduced the students to advanced medical technologies, diagnostic systems, and contemporary clinical practices, offering valuable exposure to a modern healthcare environment.
The programme concluded with an inspiring interaction led by Abeer Medical Group Vice President Dr. Jemshith Ahmed, who encouraged students to pursue careers in healthcare with dedication, empathy, and excellence. Executive Vice President Dr. Ahmed Alungal emphasised the importance of early career guidance in shaping the healthcare leaders of tomorrow, while Good Will Global Initiative President Hasan Cherupa praised the collaborative initiative for bridging classroom learning with real-world medical practice and nurturing young aspirations.
The seamless execution of MedPath reflected the collective efforts of the Abeer Medical Group team. The programme was coordinated by Facility Director Jaleel Alungal, Branding and Communications Manager Javid Ahmed, Executive Corporate Communications Officer A.M. Sajith, EVP Executive Secretary Jishad, VP Secretary Shahana, and IPC Nursing Staff member Vibitha. Patient Experience Manager Asif Iqbal compered the event with professionalism. The programme was also attended by Good Will Global Initiative General Secretary Ishaq Poondoli, Treasurer Jaleel Kannamangalam, and Academic Committee members Jessie Teacher, Fathima Tasni Teacher, and Naushad Thazhatheveettil.
The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, allowing students to engage directly with healthcare professionals. Dressed in doctors’ coats and wearing stethoscopes, the participants departed with lasting memories, renewed inspiration, and a clearer vision of pursuing careers in medicine. More than a career guidance programme, MedPath stands as a testament to Abeer Medical Group’s enduring commitment to community empowerment by nurturing future healthcare professionals and investing in the next generation of compassionate leaders.
