Riyadh – Indian community in Riyadh celebrated the 77th Independence Day followed by the musical nite “Yaad-e-Rafi” at Al Mas restaurant in Riyadh.
President All India United Society and Indian Journalists Fraternity Forum Riyadh chapter Dr. Mohammed Ashraf Ali attended as the Chief Guest while Dr. Mohammed Idris Salim Khan, Medical Consultant, AlShifa Clinic was the sponsor of the event. Management guru, eminent speaker, poet and former principal, Deccan College of Management, Prof. Mohammed Masood Ahmed graced the event as special guest. Other prominent guests included Toastmasters Area 1 Director Mirza Zaheer Baig, Chairman All India Steering Committee Zaigham Khan and others.
Eminent singers Abdul Raheem Uppala, Neethu Joy, Altaf Calicut, Jaleel Cochin, Ashwini and Linet rocked the stage with melodious solos and duets of the legendary Mohammed Rafi.
As part of the Independence Day celebrations cake cutting ceremony was performed and national anthem was sung by all the attendees.
Nayeem Abdul Qayyum conducted the proceedings as emcee.
Office bearers and representatives of several organizations and large number of music lovers enjoyed the melodious renderings till late night.
