Urdu Academy Jeddah celebrated 22nd National Education Day

Riyadh – Urdu Academy Jeddah celebrated the birth anniversary of the first education minister of independent India Maulana Abul Kalam Azad as 22nd National Education Day at the Consulate General of India, Jeddah.

Chief Guest Consul General of India Jeddah Mohammed Shahid Alam emphasized on the necessity to learn mother tongue. Being the rich and flavorful language, Urdu easily attracts everyone. He said he is very fortunate that his parents introduced him to Urdu during his early education.

“Many languages ​​have been buried in the depths of history, which has been forgotten. If you want to keep Urdu alive, equip your children with Urdu education” said the Consul General. He appreciated the teachers and students of different schools who participated in this program.

He praised Urdu Academy Jeddah for conducting elocution and tamseeli mushaira for students and said such activities helps in keeping the language alive. It also fosters youngsters to get attracted towards it. He assured his full support and cooperation with Urdu Academy for organizing such activities in future.

Eminent poet and president Bazm-e-Kahkashan Mahboob Nagar, Haleem Babar congratulated Urdu Academy Jeddah for this beautiful program and recalled the long services of the founders of Urdu Academy, Jeddah late Syed Jamalullah Qadri and late Asif Samdani. He recited few couplets to pay homage Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.

As part of the National Education Day celebrations elocution competition and symbolic poetry recitation (tamseeli mushaira) was held. Students adore the attire and make-up as eminent poets presented their famous renderings. Fatima Fawaz (Naseem Nakhat), Mohammed Monis Patel (Munawar Rana), Fayeza Syed Altaf (Saba Balrampuri), Abdulrahman Shareef (Baikal Utsahi), Sara Junaid (Lata Haya), Arham Ajlal (Abrar Kashif), Shumaila Jaleel (Ambareen Haseeb Anber), Jenan Syed (Rahat Indori), Ayesha Saad (Anjum Rahbar) and Abdul Rahman Seth (Iqbal Ashhar) captivated the audience with the famous renderings in the style of original poets.

In elocution competition students from different schools delivered their speeches on the given topic. The participants included Irham Ajlal (International Indian School Jeddah), Mohammed Furqan Faheem and Falak Jeelan (Al Falah DPS Jeddah), Mohammed Ibadullah and Ilham Mohammed Anwer (Dohat ul Uloom Jeddah), Prince Mohammed Ramzan (Jeddah Ahdaab International School) and Numaira Khan (Al Mawarid International School).

On this occasion Consul General Shahid Alam released the 22nd edition of Azad souvenir which is published by Urdu Academy Jeddah every year on the occasion of National Education Day.

President, Urdu Academy Jeddah, Muhammad Abdul Salam praised the teachers, students and parents for not only participating in the program while preparing for the exams, but also for showing their best language and oratory skills.
