Senior Urdu Journalists certified the Fact check training Project

Hyderabad – Valedictory session of the training project on “Countering Disinformation for Urdu TV journalists” organized by Dept. of Journalism & Mass Communication Osmania University in association with Consulate General of United States Hyderabad held in the auditorium of Salar Jung Museum on Thursday 10th August at 3.00 pm. Jennifer Larson, Consul General, US Consulate General Hyderabad, DGP Telangana Anjani Kumar IPS & Allam Narayana Chairman Telangana Media Academy attended the event as Guests; The eight-month-long training was completed & Thirty-seven Urdu journalists were successfully trained and certified.

Dr. Mohd Asif Ali senior Urdu journalist, Global President International Journalists Fraternity Forum (IJFF) is also among the Urdu Journalists who received the certificate from Jennifer Larson, Consul General, US Consulate General Hyderabad in this Event. Prof. Stevenson Kohir, Head, Department of Journalism, Osmania University, welcomed the gathering and thanked the US Consulate General for its support of the training project. DGP Anjani Kumar requested journalists to ensure that fake news doesn’t spread. He appealed to people not to follow the trend of message forwarding. Jennifer Larson, Consul General, US Consulate General Hyderabad, stated that the menace of disinformation across the globe weakens democracies and cautioned journalists to be vigilant.
Mr. MA Majid, President, Telangana State Urdu Working Journalists TUWJF thanked the Guests, participants & gathering for their valuable time. Mementos & shawls were presented to Guests and resource persons of the training project.
