Riyadh – Toastmasters Annual speech contest of Area 1 under division A of district 79 was held on last weekend at Al Faisal University.
The contest was held under the theme “Number 1” and comprised the five categories namely International Speech, Humorous Speech, Table Topics Speech, Evaluation Speech and Tall Tales Speech. Among four clubs which comes under the Area 1 contestants delivered 21 speeches. Among all categories Riyadh Toastmasters (RTM) Club lead with six trophies while NEOM Toastmasters Club grabbed five trophies. Three trophies came to the kitty of Bazme Urdu Toastmasters Club (BUTMC).
RTM grabbed two trophies each in humorous and tall tales speech contest and one each in international and evaluation speech contest.
NEOM toastmasters club took two trophies each in the international and table topics contests while one trophy of evaluation speech contest also came under its belt.
BUTMC got three trophies, one each in humorous, table topics and evaluation speeches.
In the international speech contest NEOM toastmaster club’s TM Brady MacCarl and TM Vera Lobova won the first and third positions while TM Miznan Bahri of RTM Club got the second position.
In the table topics speech contest TM Sayeed Mohiuddin of BUTMC won the first place while TM Steven Lewis and TM Ali AlHaddad of NEOM club got the second and third positions respectively.
In the humorous speech contest TM Mohammed Saifuddin of BUTMC got the first place while TM Yasser Al Akeeli and TM Mohammed Abdul Salam of RTM grabbed the second and third positions respectively.
In the evaluation speech category RTM’s TM Raghad Abdullah Yassin got the first place while TM Alaa Ragab of NEOM grabbed the second position and TM Sayeed Mohiuddin of BUTMC got the third place.
Both the first and second positions of the tall tales contest was taken away by the RTM with TM Mohammed Abaker and TM Mohammed Abdul Salam grabbing the first and second place respectively.
TM Saima Rashid was the chief judge of the contest. Contest chair TM Mahmoud Nabawy also conducted the table topics and international speech contests as contest master. TM Syed Ateeq Ahmed was the contest master of evaluation speech contest while TM K N Wasif conducted the humorous speech contest as contest master. TM Ibrahim Alatawi was the contes master of tall tales contest. DTM Riyas Ibrahim Kutty was the advisor of the contest. TM Syed Abdul Hamed took up the role of Assistant Timer.
Area 1 Director TM Ali Shaban looked after the arrangements and supervised the contest. Program Quality Director District 79 DTM SR Sridhar presented the trophies to all the winners. He congratulated the winners and expressed best wishes for their progress in District level competitions.
